Sprint 9 - User Trials

User Trial Sessions

This sprint I arranged two user trial sessions where I invited a selection of club members to use the current version of the application.  The purposes of this was to:

  • Monitor how the application handles multiple users
  • Monitor how users pick up how to use the application without instruction
  • Find defects in the application
  • Get feedback on the application
Session 1: This had 4 users (including myself) and got some great feedback.  All users managed to complete the tasks with minimal guidance.  We also identified 3 small bugs that I fixed before the next session.

Session 2: This had 6 users (including myself) and again got some great feedback.  All users managed to complete the tasks with minimal guidance.

It's clear from the positive feedback that the key strength of the application is the boat bookings and the way all the details of the trip are held together in one place.  I need to keep the strength in mind when introducing new features.

Trip Report

A new view has been added to look at past trips.  For trip organiser, a button is available to get a trip report that can be edited and submitted to the Treasurer.

Tidy Up

Before the trial sessions I spent some time tidying up the screens and removing the 'Cars' tab that was no longer necessary.
